Modern income taxes were a temporary measure to fight world war 2. they should have been dropped right afterward. The government got by well enough with a very minimal income tax only for the uber wealthy, and tariffs at the borders. And the tariffs, although not really punitive, leveled the global playing field and allowed the US to become a manufacturing nation, instead of remaining mostly agrarian and beholden to foreign nations for tech supply. Without them, ye olde cheaper imports would have stifled any sort of industrial growth. Now it is shifting back again, because of high federal taxes and lack of any meaningful protective tariffs, and the loons are doing the best they can to kill off farming as well.
I guess we are all supposed to sell real estate and paper financial products to each other for jobs, that or get a government bureaucracy job. Or be professional entertainers and athletes. along those lines. Lawyers, that's it, we'll all be lawyers. Heck, we'll have to have half the population to be lawyers soon anyway, you'll need one on a leash following you around to interpret reality for you all the time.
As to comparison to tax rates back under Reagan, they were way too high as well, so just inching closer or being a little lower is still too high, IMO. We don't *need* such a huge federal government, we need a smaller and strictly limited Federal government, then the states do most of the heavy lifting, because they are closer to what locals really need and weant and are willing to pay for.
Anyway, that tax cut thing is a dodge, the inflationary measures over the past year have made your cash worth about half of what it was, and inflation always takes a little bit of time to show up in the economy as a whole. You'll see, any miniscule tax cuts will be grossly overrated in importance once the big inflationary price rises start hitting more. Unless you doubled your income level this year, and that might be enough to just break even. They printed up and turned loose into the wild an equivalent sum to the normal yearly GDP, that means your cash is worth 1/2 what it was a year ago.(yes, it will start showing up this year, there's a reason the big demonization push for the tea party folks, returning vets with experience, gun owners and so on. They KNOW it is going to get much worse, because of their actions. They want to equate political protesters with terrorism!)

That's about as blatant as it gets. The tea party protests aren't failures, they represent the only credible and public resistance we have to the autocratic state run by the globalist money changers.
It would be like saying, back in the day, joe random viet nam and draft war protest was a failure. Well, ya, any one of them could be considered a failure, the sum total of them once they got going wasn't though, and it sure was in no small part because returning vets were joining the protesters, at least that's what I remember in the timeline, once you started seeing those guys in their fatigues at the heads of the protests confronting the cops and rednecks..they couldn't deny what the actual vets were saying, they *shamed* those cops and rednecks, I saw it, witnessed it, saw the cops slowly realize what XXXXXXs they were defending the crooked establishment.
When it was just hippies and college students and a few oddball types, they could all be called commies and reviled, but once it was joe six pack, joe returned vet, joe granny, joe businessman, joe EVERYONE, it started to sink in and the goons backed down a lot then.
They are basically cowards and need legions willing order followers to perpetuate their scams and thievery and murder, once they lose that support, they back off.
And that is the only hope we got now, if we can convince them they don't have enough brainwashed loons to support them. they lose that base, they lose and will back off. It was a scam blood profits war back then, using poorer kids as the wall street cannon fodder. Once *everyone* grokked that, and the goons realized they were about a year at best from outright revolt in the streets, and that they were going to lose, why shazzam, the war ended. What a coincidence. Not.
The goons are pure evil, but not stupid. The tea party protests are a direct challenge to business as usual, letting the globalist ripoffs continue. The goons and their lapdog press are going as far as they can to demonize the protesters, so that tells me the protests are *right*, that they are having an effect, because the goons never are "right", they are always "wrong", they are *always* goons and crooks. It is just their nature, they are vile predators on other humans.
And that's why they demonize or ridicule survivalist folks and self defense oriented folks, because it helps get you out from under their thumb and they don't like that, they want you dependent on them and afraid of them and kowtowing to them forever. Your regular old bow and curtsey to the royals deal. Been like that for thousands of years, those predators just change titles and costumes, but continue with the same old ..well, slavery racket.
