Posted by SPW on 4/17/2006, 8:58 am Recently fan favorite El Flaco Loco has turned his back on the fans and his fellow wrestlers and has declared war on the “high flying” style of wrestling that the lighter wrestlers like to use. His first target was Virgil Flynn (arguably the best flier in Nor Cal), but Flynn has refused to stay down and on the 30th he will get his chance at revenge against El Flaco Loco. On January 8, 2006 the strangest team in SPW history won the tag team titles. One member, Vinny Massaro, is known nation wide as a strong style wrestler and is the most successful tag team wrestler in the area today (he currently holds both the NAW tag titles and the Portland Wrestling tag titles with the Big Ugly JD Bishop and the PCW Tag Titles with the Trendsetter Adam Thornstowe). His partner, Seito Hayashi, wears women’s clothing. As a part of night two they will be putting their SPW tag team titles on the line against three other teams in a four corner elimination match. Team number one will be two members of the Rejected (they have not yet announced which members will be representing). The second team will be the hottest upcoming team in Nor Cal, The British Messiah Timothy Thatcher and Mr. Deacon Frost, collectively known as the Honor Society. And the last team? That won’t be decided until Night One as SPW will be holding a Wildcard Tag Team Battle Royal. Basically the last two men standing in the ring will team up as a part of this four corner tag match. It literally could be any two members of the SPW roster. On March 5, 2006 SPW held the first ever (anywhere) Braveheart Battle Royal. Due to a pre-match stipulation the winner, the Big Ugly JD Bishop, was able to have any match he wanted as a part of the Anniversary Show Weekend. He decided to face long time thorn in his side, Sir Samurai, in a singles match. But to make things interesting Ugly has made this match a hair vs hair match. That means that at the end of the night one of the two men will have their head shaved in the center of the ring. So remember, fans, BOTH nights are sure to be “show of the year” contenders and chances are there will be multiple “match of the year” contenders on each night. On night two doors open at 5 with bell time being 5:30.
