Posted by SPW reporter on 3/19/2006, 10:23 am On Friday the 17th UWA ran a "TV Taping" for a public access show. The opening match saw Pogo defeat Steel and then beat up two youn wrestlers. In a qualifying match for the TV Tournament Luster the Legend defeated Rage In another qualifying match the Trendsetter Adam Thornstowe defeated Sir Samurai Trent Hemridge and Otis (w/ Tommy Tsunami) successfully defended their UWA tag team titles against the Honor Society (Timothy Thatcher and Mr Frost w/Sir Samurai) Jason Vega defeated Mark Vega There was a tag team match with the Honky Tonk Man, Money Mike Rayne, Mark Vega, and Rob Wilds. I am not sure who won because everybody but Honky changed sides during the match, including Chris Ward, who was not even in it. The Big Ugly JD Bishop defeated Chris Ward to win the UWA Heavyweight Title. Money Mike Rayne used his "money in the bank" title shot to face Ugly, who for some reason now had one hand tied behind his back, and thanks to help from Wilds, Will Loudin, and others Rayne won the title and was named the new UWA Heavyweight Champion. The next UWA show is April 22, but many members of the SPW roster will be wrestling for Oaktown Wrestling on that same day. WWM held a show on Friday as well, in the Bay Area. The opener saw Rik Luxury defeat Kenny K JT Hyatt defeated Vennis DeMarco Akuma defeated Virgil Flynn and Seito Hayashi in a three way The Suburban Commandos defeated the Young Bucks El Hijo De Chupacabra defeated Dana Lee and Bonzai Bruce Bukkake in a three way. No return date was announced Next weekend is a big weekend in Nor Cal as BRAWL is in Antioch on Friday, SPW at the Colonial on Saturday, and NAW in Modesto on Sunday. All three shows are worth checking out. And remember, the big SPW Six Year Anniversary Weekend is April 29 and 30.

We missed last week's update, but I want to put out that at the PCW show in Yuba City, Ca the team of the Trendsetter Adam Thornstowe and Vinny Massaro won the PCW Tag Team Titles. I do not know the next PCW date.
