23 "Blessed is he who does not take offense at Me."
As many lukewarm Christians sit idly in their pews, content to tithe, attend services thrice a week, and do nothing more...passages like the aforementioned scream to us just how far we are deviated from a truly Christ-centered life! We were blessed with the most gracious gift our Father could ever give, our savior, His holy and precious son. Jesus walked from town to town, from synagogue to synagogue, from house to house...healing, preaching, teaching with parables, setting the example for us to follow. He died so we can live. He suffered so we can survive. He sacrificed so that we can serve. I cannot praise Him enough it seems, my love for our Lord grows daily, and I am filled with an insatiable desire to serve Him.
So often, in today's hedonistic society, I hear people talk about what they want. New fancy phones, fancy cars or trucks, bigger houses, that really awesome new ipad, or that BIG fancy diamond ring, or even just a better job...I hear "I want" all over, every single day! I watch people hustle by in the mall, or Wal Mart, each person with a huge list of gifts to buy for Christmas. I see signs everywhere that remove the very purpose for this holiday season! CHRISTmas, is not just a holiday for receiving cool gadgets and gifts...it's a holiday for celebrating our Lord, and giving thanks!!
This leads me to ask...have you said thank you today? When you opened your eyes this morning, and took your first wakened breath, did you thank God for giving you that breath? When you walked to your coffee pot, did you thank God for the ability to walk? When you sat down to that tasty breakfast, did you thank our Lord for the affluence with which you purchased that food? Or the fact that you have a warm home to nestle into while eating your food? Sadly, it's not often enough that we give thanks to our Lord. So, this morning, I say Glory be to God that we are still alive! Glory be to God that we are breathing, reading, typing, working, eating, and glory be to God that we are serving Him!
May God bless each of you on this wonderful Wednesday!
Love your sister in Christ,
Shannon
