Rudy's surgeries were total hip replacement. They were done in Reno, NV, at Washoe Medical Center. He had the ceramic-on-ceramic hips with titanium "shaft." Stryker Technology was the company that produced them. He has had the benefit of excellent physical therapy almost from day one after surgery. See www.rudy-galindo.com/newspics.htm His PT knows skating and had seen Rudy skate, so knew what to do. Rudy may not be able to do splits like he used to, but, so far, he's tried everything he feels ready to do. I'm afraid to ask about falls--don't want to know! He does everything so gracefully that they are probably very soft, if they happen!
