Posted by Amanda on 12/23/2001, 8:03 pm --Previous Message-- Rudy is fine. In fact, he was in another competition on the same day as the Professional Championships (Hershey's Kisses Challenge). What you saw on his schedule was the television rerun of the 2000 World Professional Championships in which Rudy did compete. Unfortunately, the Hallmark event was a "substitute" competition run under the auspices of IMG, an agency that represents several skaters (many from Stars on Ice). Rudy is associated with SFX. IMG basically uses only its own skaters for events it is behind. Therefore, he didn't compete in the Hallmark event. He had already made the commitment for Hershey's when the Hallmark event was rather hastily put together. Rudy can be seen on TV in Brian Boitano's Holiday Skating Spectacular on New Years Day. I believe the time is 4-6 PM, but check your local listings. This is a good one--don't miss it! Amanda
: I have just watched a video of the 2001
: Professional Championship (now
: called Hallmark Skaters'
: Championship), and when I didn't
: see Rudy Galindo, I got concerned
: about how well he was doing
: physically, so I looked up the
: website, and find that he was
: scheduled for the Pro
: Championships. What happened?
: He's not sick, is he? I love his
: skating, and would be very
: saddened if he wasn't able to
: continue to skate.
