I have mixed feelings about taking away the main source of income for someone who is HIV positive, but I do feel that Rudy owes Johnny and the whole gay community an apology. I think the Tribune (and WaPo, and the Times...etc etc on to skeevy internet outfits) would have done their thing with or without Rudy but his was kind of an "et tu, Brute'" flourish that still makes me cringe every time I think about it...
: Several people have now said that they
: will not go to Champions on Ice
: anymore because of their disgust
: with Rudy and his treatment of both
: up-and-coming skaters on
: "Skating's Next Star" and
: fellow skater Johnny Weir during the
: Olympics. Instead of taking it out
: on the show,, why not let the
: organizers of Champions on Ice know
: that you feel Rudy has lost his
: appeal by behaving so disturbingly
: and that you no longer want to see
: the show if he is in it? You can
: contact the show's publicists, Lynn
: Plage and Marissa Peede, at these
: emails: lplage@lpcpublicity.com and
: mpeede@lpcpublicity.com Maybe if
: he actually faced losing some of his
: income for treating other people so
: cruelly, it would have more of an
: impact on Rudy than just receiving
: attention for it, which I suspect he
: rather enjoys.
