I do not doubt that Queen Mary, as Princess of Wales could have had a brooch with the feathers insignia.
There are a number of examples in the collection, however the has never been any evidence, either pictorial or archival; to suggest that this was in any way the same as Alexandra's brooch.
The distinct emerald drop, and you will notice, the tiny emerald in-between the diamonds, make Alexandra's brooch, the Ladies of North Wales brooch, highly individual.
Queen Mary, would undoubtedly have, at some point, commissioned or been presented with a brooch with the Prince of Wales insignia during her time as the Princess of Wales, yet to suggest that it she had a replica and copy of the Ladies of North Wales brooch is absurd, and unfounded.
