So, I'm back to answer my own question
I simply synched the RM1x to my s/w sequencer MIDI clock with RM1x as slave, armed 16 MIDI tracks, and hit the record button. Simple, eh?

: First I'd like to say that I'm really glad to see this forum is
: still around after all these years. Looking back, I'd have to
: say that the RM1x is probably one of my favorite devices of all
: time and if I was stuck on a desert island with only one device,
: a generator, and a pair of headphones, I'd most definitely
: choose my RM1x. Okay, now onto the question...
:
: I want to remake a song that I originally composed exclusively
: on the RM1x four years ago. I loaded up the song on the RM1x
: tonight and saved in as a SMF in hopes that I could then load it
: into my computer and manipulate the MIDI tracks without having
: to start completely from scratch. Unfortunately, it's showing
: up as one MIDI track in every program I load it into. In the
: RM1x, the song is on separate tracks. Is there a way to break
: the song into its separate tracks so I can manipulate it on the
: PC?
:
: Thanks in advance!
: Peace Out \/
