yeah i figured it was out of comission, i havent seen the rm1x or the rs series being sold for a while... besides...the motif es is king as far as im concerned... if i could afford it i would pick it up... so the only option is the 909 at this point, or second hand rs7000... i've heard some ugly things about the rs7000 as far as sound quality goes... considering i am junking all my equipment for an all in one solution, im probably going to go with the mc909 as the cheap solution... damn i want a motif es6 though
... so probably going to go with the 909... basically over sound quality, and internal sampler..., im not trying to make music professionally... as always it was just to get some expression out, do a live pa here and there.. i tried to work myself into the scene a while ago, and its too dirty..too corporate... i would rather write graffiti on walls, or play harmonica on my porch... no money or rules involved.

: Yamaha pulled the plug on the RS7000 last year; about the same
: time as the RM1x...this may make your choice a little easier, as
: the MC-909 is now the last "true" groovebox on the
: market.
:
: Bought my RM1x brand new last year from American Musical after
: many years of lusting for one. I produce Rap and R&B
: professionally here in California (going on 12 years) and after
: many years of owning LOTS of gear--both hardware and software, I
: realized I HATE making music on computers! I put together a new
: studio last year, all hardware...I'm LOVIN' it. The RM is the
: center of my set-up. The computer is now out in the lobby
: keeping track of projects and billing clients!
