Posted by simon chrzanowski I checked the software version and its 1.02 so i reckon it may be related to that, but tbh i can cope as long as i remember to save any sounds i like. The Yamaha does seem to 'change' each time i use it though (different quirks etc) are they quite robust or are they know to have problems in later life? (it looks to have been quite well looked after btw). Simon --Previous Message--

Hi MDee, cheers for your help, I have tried this i must admit (plus a few other things) and now it 'seems' to have stopped sending reset messages when i press record, but still does it when i exit the utility menu?
: At first the RM1x can appear to do strange preset changes to
: external midi equip. The solution is to get rid of the
: "phrase" term in the bank section of voice mode &
: this should stop it.

: Hi, i'm new to the rm1x scene having just picked up a 2nd hand
: one.
: My primary use was to sequence my Roland SH32 which is working
: well. I.e i can play sounds through the yamaha, record etc!
: However, when i exit the utility menu or press record or back,
: the sequencer sends a signal to the sh32 and the display of the
: sh32 changes from for example A11 to --- and no noise is heard
: until i manually change pattern on my sh32 where all my preset
: sounds are lost unless i've written them beforehand!
:
: I've tried to stop the yamaha sending any midi messages via the
: utility & set up menus but the problem persists! I've also
: played with the local settings on the sh32 eg turn off or mid1
: or mid2 but again the problem persists! Has anyone any idea
: whats happening here?
:
: Does the yamaha clash with the Roland? Please, please advise of
: any tips cause i'm pulling my hair out here!!!
