Posted by TMG The screen could fail for a number of reasons. It is hard to order parts for these if you are not an Yamaha authorized repair center. Like you, I have some experience with minor equipment repairs. As far as I can tell, only a small number of the screens have failed. I guess we are the unlucky ones. --Previous Message--

I could use the specs too. One day, my first RM1X's LCD screen had a solid bar about every eight pixel and the letters and numbers turned to gibberish. It took about three weeks for the screen to finally die. I have a backup RM1X and the original one too. The machine is fine, but the screen is dead. Now I'm stuck with one inoperable (not inoperative) RM1X. You cant do anything if you cannot see the screen. I have found that the tech specs for these things are extremely difficult to find outside the Yamaha offices.
Bad connection between the mobo to lcd harness. User repair possible
Lcd failure. User repair possible
Failure of the mobo chip that controls the LCD. Ship back to Yamaha
: the LCD screen on my machine is slowly crapping out. I was
: wondering if anyone knows where I could get technical specs on
: the RM1X so I can get a new screen and install it.
