I use my RM1X slaved to Cubase.
I dont use MTC in the RM1X synch settings I use MIDI.
In the Cubase settings MIDI timecode destination tick your MIDI interface and tick MIDI timecode follows project time.
In the Cubase settings MIDI clock destinations tick your MIDI interface and tick always send start message.
Slaved to Cubase I can use the RM1X (in grid mode)the same way as Reasons redrum or a TR-808's step sequncer for any VST instrument (great for drums).
I record to the track with the RM1x slaved and if I need to use MIDI learn for a knob or stop the RM1X from triggering MIDI that Cubase already has recorded on the track I just switch the RM1X synch to internal.
