Divide Drum track

Anyone have a problem with divide drum track? when I record using grid mode, say kick drum, snares and high hats all on one track. Then using divide drum track command I find it does not split the parts out evening between 3 new tracks... any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
PS the RM1X is still the best hardware sequencer on the block...
