If i understood right -not sure yet- what you're doing is the next:
Keyboard or PC (MIDI OUT)-->(MIDI IN)RM1x(MIDI OUT)-->(MIDI IN)Other TG.
Go to the RM1x manual (manual page 75):
What u have to do is set the ''TO TG'' parameter of the track you're recording on to OFF.This avoid the RM1x plays its Internal TG.
This way the RM1x receive and record your external keyboard's Note Ons events and transmit'em via MIDi OUT to an external tone generator.
Am I Right?
