: I do like how most of the games have some
: form of a 1-player "campaign".
: They obviously aren't as "fleshed
: out" as a freestanding game from each
: franchise but there are multiple levels,
: goals, etc. I haven't played Nintendoland
: in a long time.
I think I'm up to 20 hours, with 77 prizes (148 coins in reserve), and three star attractions. I was kind of disappointed that the two or more player "competitive" games award a star just for playing a certain number of times, but what else could they use as a measurement?
It feels like, once you've played a one-player mini-game 15 or 20 times, you might complete it (yet not get every stamp). I wish they were a little longer. I keep playing the "competitive" ones by controlling both the GamePad and a remote (not very fun). The games that take the most hours will probably be the one-or-more-player types where they want you to use a team (Zelda, Pikmin, Metroid). As a single player, they feel pretty difficult.
: I believe combos are just basically
: consecutive shots that hit an enemy without
: missing... in other words being accurate.
: There's a tiny chance I'm not spot on with
: that but I'm almost sure that's what it is.
Hmmm. I was able to put some combos together today. I noticed that you do have to hit a ninja with every star (besides breaking the pots, screens, or other distractions) to continue the combo. What's strange is that it might interrupt the combo if you hit an exploding ninja who is already defeated. If a ninja is "spared," or you can't hit him in time, I believe that interrupts the combo. Speaking of which, how in the world did I get the "First 100 down" stamp this afternoon? On that playthrough, I think I ignored the distractions (extra clay vases and the weird plants) and kept firing away. I forget if some ninjas take more than one hit to dispatch. What might be happening is that they throw a star and it cancels out yours (because they collide in the air). The yellow guys seem to take three hits, or you definitely have to hit their clay bomb with a star to kill them from the explosion. The blue guys are the weirdest of the group. They have no offensive tactics at all, but I end up "sparing" them the most of any color, because when you get to the second round and stage 3 or 4, they're grouped about eight or ten together.
