"We believe that everyone is created equal."
The problem I see is, "created" invokes a Creator, which is a form of "religion" and violates the "separation of church and state." OK. Well, they were probably "created" by their parents instead. I don't necessarily know that everyone is "equal." It's probably more accurate to say that God values everyone, because they all reflect some part of His "image." In a truly equal world, how could we have something like competitive sports? Wouldn't every game end in a draw?
"We believe that children should not bear the responsibility for the sins of their parents."
In a recent reading assignment, my online textbook was talking about why you can't use "sin" as a research topic: because the authors of that material assume it's open to everyone's interpretation. I wouldn't know what "sin" meant outside of a religious context, but we can't force that on anyone in a "secular" culture.
To deal with the actual statement, no, I don't think that should happen, and the Bible says things along those lines.
"We believe discrimination is wrong in every instance."
I don't agree with that, because it's impossible to enforce in real life. Was it "discrimination" against Carrie Prejean when she didn't win a beauty pageant specifically BECAUSE of her faith, or an answer she gave about marriage? Looking from another perspective, the judge who stopped her from winning probably viewed her as a "bigot" who was doing her own form of "discrimination."
What about when a valedictorian can't say Jesus in a speech? What about when our church pastor gets asked to "pray" at a public event, but "not in Jesus' name"?
If Wiccans wanted to hold a ceremony in my house or on the street near our property, I'd most likely "discriminate" against them, or ask the police to do it for me.
How about if we just take back the idea of "discrimination" and use it properly? Well, that would require a shared understanding of good vs evil.
"We believe there are people of worth beyond our tight circle ..."
I'm not sure what counts as my "tight circle." Then I go out to a public laundromat, and see who else is out there, and have a hard time not "judging" them or going into self-preservation mode. I have a hard time valuing some of my relatives, or even myself.
"We believe offenders have paid their price ... and should be helped to assimilate back into society."
Here's how I know that's not true. I used to be on the mailing list of a group called Prison Fellowship, who wanted to do EXACTLY THAT, with the catch of using a Christian perspective (so that Jesus could be the one changing the ex-convict). Secular groups were fighting tooth and nail to kick Prison Fellowship OUT of the prison system!! It sounds more important to focus on HOW they get "rehabilitated," or who gets to do the rehabilitation.
"We believe there are peace-loving Muslims."
I think they have names like Malala, who was about the get a medal in Canada on the SAME DAY that a radical Muslim shot up a government building. Coincidence?
Maybe Sayed Abedini? Who I haven't kept up with, but he got arrested for evangelism in Iran.
What about the guy in Jordan who was burned alive?
Yet, we're not allowed to kill anyone who treats their fellow Muslim/human that way.
"We believe we have only one planet, and we should protect it for our grandchildren."
I would ask, what grandchildren? We murder about a million babies a year, and many liberals support that "right" of a woman. Gay marriage keeps gaining support, and it can't lead to any biological children, unless a third party or a heterosexual couple get involved. People are no longer shocked by "shacking up" or out of wedlock births. Without some of those circumstances, multiple welfare programs might disappear or become less needed in society.

I really find it hard to identify with any party. Global warming? No matter if it is true, that doesn't seem like any kind of problem at all. You'd need to move toward the center of the country and away from the water. The Earth started out being covered by water, or maybe being nothing but water (not taught in evolutionary theory). Is Bill Nye a "global flood denier"? After that event, God gave His word not to destroy everything with water again (next time, it sounds like fire will do the trick - possibly from "global warming"?).
Yes, it's hard to find jobs. It's hard to finish college. Dozens of people I know (especially guys) shouldn't waste money on college. Learn a trade and get that $70,000/year salary in a union (more than a free market might ever pay).
I probably can't be anti-corporation, unless I'm a hypocrite. I did just buy Nintendo toys, from Target, and got there in a Toyota.
This stuff doesn't seem like a reason to get fired up one way or another.
