: and "might" because I never know
: if I'll follow through with the goal.
That sounds like me or my family members.
: One thing I'm planning for SURE is the ol'
: living room rearrange. For an average
: person that can be something that's a little
: work but not too bad. For me and all of my
: electronics this is a MAJOR undertaking
: whenever I do it! I made a post on FaceBook
: saying that I'll love the end result of the
: rearrange but I hate the process. :-P
:
: Anyway, just figured I'd let you guys know
: just in case. We'll see what happens but it
: wouldn't be more than a week or so.
In the meantime, I've put in way too much time on the Wii version of SSB (called Brawl?). I count 35 playable characters, but since two have alternate forms, and one is up to three characters, does that mean 39 total fighters?
I kind of see a bit of "strategy" in the game, or ways that they added "balance" (sort of like how Mario Kart has players who accelerate fast or have tight handling).
The easiest way to KO someone is probably to "air juggle," and then keep jumping towards them (at least, that's how the "Cruel Brawl" avatars beat me in about 0.2 seconds [LOL]). Then I've noticed that Kirby has a powerful down + B move to make people think twice about hitting him in the air. Link has a down + A move where he tries to stab someone with the point of his sword.
The lightweight fighters seem to have an easier time recovering from getting knocked in the air, or they don't need the up + B move to do it (Kirby just keeps flapping and floating until a certain number of button presses).
On one custom stage of mine, I think I created a battle with no possible way to win. The stage is basically a solid box on the bottom and the sides. Then the top row are the blocks with an arrow that drop after something touches the top for a few seconds. In other words, once all of the players drop through to the hollow box, they're pretty much stuck. I did notice item drops were removing the temporary blocks that fall away, but they keep regenerating. Anyway, after a stock battle where two AI players actually got KOed, it was me and Sonic trapped in "sudden death." The game kept dropping bombs trying to eliminate someone, but it didn't really matter once we got in the box. My damage went up to 999%, and it still didn't declare a winner, so I used the button shortcut to quit the match. The way they described that was "no contest."
I think I was wrong about a previous detail. "Suicide" is called "self-destruct," instead of "sudden death." They just say "SDs" on the screen with all of the statistics. This game doesn't seem to give credit for many SDs, even when Kirby does something like turns himself into a heavy item that falls or slips down a hole.
I'm not even sure what makes that game addictive! Maybe all of the trophies, or trying to finish every single challenge? I doubt I'm that good at the game, or could ever reach the point of beating certain modes on the highest difficulty. I don't know what's up with the stickers, either. They must only apply to single player mode? The descriptions make them sound like "Madden cards," where you get a boost in damage or improved defense against certain attacks.
So, yeah, a pretty neat game, but too chaotic. There have been battles where Kirby gets credit for 11 KOs, and I don't even remember attempting that many KOs. What it seems to come down to is grabbing all of the items (especially the glass things that open to reveal an "assist trophy"). One of those sends out this massive U-shaped wave that's practically a guaranteed KO.
