Ludwig, as in one of the "Koopalings"? I'm not sure if he's listed on the roster yet. The first time I remember Bowser's "kids" was SMB3. Then probably again in a few sequels ("Super Mario World" for SNES, "New SMB" on Wii ...).
Cool music. I just hope those aren't copyright violations. I definitely picked up retro "American Gladiators" (with Larry Csonka on color commentary). Then some "Press Your Luck"?
I can't get the master battle to load, but I think what happened was, even in a timed stock battle, there can be a tie after the time limit (??). That might explain how sudden death could factor into a stock battle.
Now I remember what it's called when your character sort of commits suicide ("sudden death" - but not the kind that breaks a tie, if that makes sense).
That huge dog/puppy, and the stage with Ridley are examples of why it's hard for me to take this game seriously in the "fighting" genre. Get out of the way and let the players decide the match.
Other than that, just too much nostalgia, I guess. These characters and stages remind me of games that I've put on hold until I can graduate college. I'm at the final boss of "Metroid Prime," with 100% of the upgrades, and still haven't beaten that thing (maybe under 100%, because you already fought Ridley to access the final hallways, and those are filled with annoying metroids that consume your bombs). "Donkey Kong Country Returns" is awesome! It's also so hard, that I doubt I'll ever score the full collection of shiny gold medals (one step above regular gold, and the times to beat aren't published in the game). I know I got into the 8th main world, but I skipped most of the Kong levels after after about 50 tries in each one.
I think I'll be able to submit settings and vote for new hopefuls by tomorrow. (My other reply was just asking more about the rankings and the rungs.)
You know what else? I wish Nintendo would release a new physical NES or SNES (possibly redesigned and changing the outputs to reflect HDTV sets). I know they have the "Virtual Console," but is it still the same experience? Mainly, I'd like to play with the original controllers, and not need to hunt them down on eBay. It looks like they kind of brought back the GameCube controllers for the new SSB game (but they changed the logo). Luckily, I still have two of them in good condition and even a Wavebird (REALLY expensive to try and find now in never opened condition). They could even remake the games (I'm thinking something like how "Super Mario All-Stars" was a major visual improvement at the time) to support widescreen and higher resolution. Or, would that just be too many consoles in your entertainment center?
