My knowledge of wrestling is that I may know some people from my church congregation who went to high school with "The Rock." It's funny how I currently view him and guys like John Cena more as "actors," since that seems to be their second career after they cut back on wrestling.
Motivation is a weird thing. I don't know the source of mine. People have even asked me, and I draw a blank. There are at least three things I know about myself: 1) I can verbally abuse myself without outside help; 2) I tend to interpret words literally, regardless of their form (spoken or written); 3) I tend to assimilate to whatever opinions other people have of me.
Actually, I'm not 100% sure that #3 is correct. The way you've been passionate about activities where almost nobody gives feedback or helps out reminds me of myself. I can talk about things that a "normal" person probably wouldn't understand and keep myself entertained.
What I don't understand is the way other people try to "motivate" you. Somehow, by calling you a "momma's boy," or saying you never leave your "comfort zone," that should motivate you? I keep trying to figure out how it would motivate someone. Maybe if you're mad at the comments? They're not even true, so I would tend to laugh or ignore them. I doubt the people who say them can get inside my head. I try to value and respect my mom as a person, but I've almost NEVER been comfortable around her. Growing up, she would make these dorky decisions and dress me however she saw fit. I didn't have the courage or the social skills to SPEAK UP and disagree, because that usually meant a tantrum, pouting, making threats to withhold something, etc. For someone else to say that I only stay with my mom because I like that environment would be like me judging a female stranger who was getting beat up by an abusive man by saying, "Subconsciously, she likes it and wants to stay in that situation." How does anybody know what she's thinking? Why don't you teach her assertiveness, or make it so that she can leave without losing some kind of social support system?
It's hard to get away from that messaging, though. I've seen video clips where a speaker was comparing video games to having a serious addiction to narcotics. HUH? Has that person ever played a video game? If you finish all of your other chores and responsibilities, you can never sit down to play a video game, because it's no different from snorting powder off a mirror or injecting something into your arm?
Sorry if I'm rambling on about things from left field. I just feel like there's hardly anyone who wants to teach you the life skills you may have missed.
I'm going to stop watching "the news" soon, because they're obsessed with negative stories. I know those tend to lower my motivation. If there's no God, then, yeah, I could see being paranoid that someone might sit next to you on a plane and give you ebola. What about the missionary doctor who was apparently cured? They hardly tell his story or what was unique about his treatment (I'd say it wasn't really about the treatment).
Have to get back to homework and be "productive."

: It's been quite a while since I played out an
: XTW event and it's because I've kind of lost
: the motivation for it. I still think about
: it, I want to do more, but something is
: keeping me from taking the time to make it
: happen. Well, I think I know part of that.
: For one I think I've evolved things to maybe
: having a bit too much to do with all of the
: extras like Team Challenge Series and the
: like as well as the editing of the videos
: which is just time consuming.
:
: Another is I'm kind of discouraged that in
: all the time I've been doing XTW we haven't
: been able to get any new people to take
: part. I've posted things to my FaceBook
: where quite a few of the people on my
: friends list are as a result of wrestling
: and I've also talked to friends to try to
: get them to take part. I know XTW isn't the
: kind of thing to draw LOTS of people but,
: come one, just a small handful of people.
: How interesting could matches be if we had,
: say, 5 people submitting things for each
: show? I remember when we had LJ still
: around and sometimes we'd end up with some
: interesting hybrid type rules for matches
: but with only 2 people it kind of hurts
: that.
:
: Like I said, I still think about doing XTW
: and I have WWE 2K15 pre-ordered but... I
: just can't get around to getting things
: going again. :-( I've thought what I may
: do is simplify some things to cut down on
: the time. Perhaps put the Team Challenge
: Series on hiatus unless one of you guys
: wants to take the reigns on that. Also on
: videos I may cut out the editing so I just
: take the recording of the matches, slap an
: intro and outro onto it, and go that way.
: I'm not a fan of having those loading
: screens in XTW videos but it would simplify
: things for me. I'd keep the Lucky 7 Series
: as I really like how that works.
:
: Any ideas or general feedback on what can
: get me going again?
