below you will find instructions to our meeting for The Recovery Group
If you go to this link (below) click on it, next you have Internet Explorer asking if you want to run or not run this program, click on Run.
Next you see a window with Nick at the top, there you put in whatever name you want to use. If you use Karen,
I would put a number after it like this Karen23 because most common names are registered on starchat.
And that is the server you are connecting to.
Of course you can pick a name like kitten, ladybug, if it changes you to Guest don’t worry about it.
You can still talk in the meeting. It already has the name of the room you want to connect to Recovery.
Now scroll down and click on “Connect to starchat” give it a minute or so and it will take you into the room.
If you are not on AOL, Compuserv, Prodigy, or Wal-Mart Connect as your Internet Service Provider, connect to StarChat and type:
/msg nickserv register [your E-mail address here] [create your own password here]
Example: /msg nickserv register star@starchat.net twinkle
Use your real E-mail address as StarChat mails you an access number to complete registration. Once you receive that number,
follow the directions in the E-mail to activate the nickname. You need to activate your nickname in 24 hours after you register,
otherwise the registration will expire and you will need to register again.
If you use AOL, Compuserv, or Wal-Mart Connect as your Internet Service Provider,
then you must register http://www.starchat.net/aol/index.htm to speak on StarChat.
