She uses them for magic tricks (of which she is quite fond!)
I am loving this little Rosen Lied soooo much!

A couple hundred years ago, dotted swiss was made of cotton muslin (and then later batiste). From what I've read, it's first appearance was in the 1750's in Switzerland. I just know that when I see it, I usually have to have it (if my pocketbook will allow for it.....LOL!)

and I think she may be keeping it. It always looked adorable on Cricket, but it really looks adorable on "Madison" (which is what I have named this little Rosen Lied). I wish I could find another wig just like it.....such pretty mohair!

What doll is this Elizabeth?....I get easily confused by the smaller sizes
And such a lot of care went into the photo and the set too.....no wonder my single shot photos are such a disappointment to me.
I need to think about the set for single shots too

Two more outfits and she'll be fully mine!
Our youngest daughter is into magic tricks (and she has some very interesting "decks"!) and I remembered that she had some giant cards...perfect for Alice.
And what are you saying? Your single shots are awesome! They always express such emotion! And your props are to die for!

The nylon dotted swiss was from my vintage stash. I love it when I find a nice piece at the thrift store.....most of what I have is vintage clothing that I have purchased for its yardage. This particular dress was made from a piece that looks like it was once a dear little summer dress for maybe a teenager....I figure it was at least late 50's early 60's by the style. This Alice outfit was the first thing that I've made from it. I always take a deep breath before making that initial cut into my vintage fabrics. I also make darn sure that I have a pattern that I've tested for fit before I cut into the good stuff! LOL!
I just love the little flamingo. It's a little McDonald's mini beanie baby. Just right for Alice!

I love dotted swiss and snap it up anytime I see some.....mainly thrift stores. But my downfall is cotton dimity. I can NEVER have enough cotton dimity!
