The four of you are adorable - you look like dolls!
It's bittersweet going back to look at our old homes... But it's nice to have memories like the one in your picture. It would be great to have the 4 of you sitting together, in the same poses!
: I don't have anything so moving to tell from
: my own live but I did see this picture
: yesterday while I was looking through
: folders on my computer. I think its probably
: my favorite photo. It's the only family
: photo I have up at home.
: It's of (from left) myself, my cousin
: Alisha, my sister Jenny and my cousin Becky.
: They always liked to dress Jenny and I
: alike. Mum used to say so if she lost one of
: us at the shops she could just say to
: security 'She looks like this' and point to
: the other of us. The dress I'm wearing is
: one of our matched dresses, but I think this
: is Jenny's one given the age of us all. The
: Elephant I'm holding is Alisha's. I think
: the bunny Alisha has there might be Jenny's,
: I think we had a pair of those ... I think
: mine was yellow. Though there could well
: have been 4 of them as I seem to recall a
: white one. The matched dresses Becky and
: Jenny are wearing were meant to be ours but
: I refused to wear mine because I thought it
: looked like a school dress and I wasn't at
: school yet. Also I think the fabric was
: heavy and warm to wear. I did NOT like that
: You will notice Alisha and Becky aren't
: wearing shoes. They grew up in the tropics
: in Nauru where they didn't need shoes and it
: was quite a battle getting them into them so
: their parent's didn't bother. Their hair was
: so light from the sun up there.
: The Van was Grandpa's Bedford. It was the
: reason Grandpa had the callsign 'Mr Whippy'
: on the radio on our road trips. I don't
: remember this van at all. If asked I'd have
: said he had that before I was around, but
: clearly, there it is and I was laying down
: memories of that time. I remember the pic
: being taken. Them getting us to come out and
: sit on the little wall. The wall disappeared
: a few years later. The sandy soil had
: shifted (maybe due to us parking cars on the
: upper part) and the wall had crumbled in
: bits. I was sad when they took it out.
: The house I spent the most of my life in.
: They sold it last year and it's probably a
: pile of rubble now. I've not dared to go
: back and look.
