It has been nearly two years now…..photostory from East Leake

Note: Erik has been married before. Jessica is the child he thought was his but who was not.....

Erik has taken Emma to The Botanical Gardens. They pause in their wanderings in one of the old greenhouses and Erik opens up about his past....

Erik: My divorce seems so long ago now

Emma: *silence*

Erik: I haven’t seen Jessica for nearly two years now. She will be three now, nearly four

Emma: *silence*

Erik: *sigh* She will have forgotten me by now, her mother will have made sure of that. My name will have never been mentioned and all photos will have been destroyed
Emma: *silence*

Erik: Some days are worse than others
Emma: *silence*

Erik: *heavy sigh*
Emma: *silence*

Erik: *shakes himself* I am sorry Emma. I am not much company today and to talk of oneself and ones past like this is abominably rude. No wonder you are silent

Emma: *she looks up* Oh no Erik that is not why I am silent

Erik: *tilts head*

Emma: *earnestly* I am silent because I simply don’t know what to say. Whatever I say would be so shallow and trite and would not convey one ounce of the depth of sorrow or empathy that I feel for you. I cannot even begin to understand your loss and the loss of a child.*she falters* I....I...am sorry …….

Erik: *moving closer*
Emma: *blushing and upset* I...I am sorry, I don’t know what to say......

He lays his hand on hers...
Erik: Oh but you do Emma, you do....*long pause*... Thank you
Emma: *silence*

Erik: *quietly* Emma…..
Emma: *blushes*

Erik: Emma, I want you to know that you are really special….and I think the world of you
Emma: *blushes more deeply*

Erik: And I hope you feel the same about me…Emma? ….do you?
Emma: *whispers* Erik…….*daring to look up*…..you know I do…….

Erik: I wasn’t absolutely sure; I needed to hear you say so, you are so gentle and kind to everyone……not just me……

Erik: *breathes deeply* Emma Smith………*and he kisses her*

Erik: Bless you
*Peace*

I am so pleased that they have reached this stage in their relationship; I had begun to despair of it ever happening with Emma being so nervous and shy and Erik so vulnerable.
I am just so happy for them…*sigh*….the first kiss …..

I also couldn’t resist putting in this last shot of them…

Thank you to my friend Anne for Emma’s dress and I shot this story in Mum and Dad’s old greenhouse
