Demi gets the newest sweater to come off my favorite crochet hook – a lacy-patterned pullover in wine red made to fit the Iplehouse girl body (although it should fit many of the other SD girls as well.)
My favorite brand of quality crochet thread was recently discontinued (the whole darn line!) and I took a chance on a new one that my supplier claimed replaced the discontinued kind. It ended up being just as good as the former brand, but comes in more and better colors.
Along with my order, they sent a sample spool of a fine tatting thread in variegated jewel colors. I didn‘t have any idea what to do with the sample, since I don’t tat, and it’s a finer gauge than I typically work with.
So I grabbed an even tinier steel hook and just started a swatch, since I really wanted to see how the colors would work up. Demi’s scarf/sash/headband is the result.
It just so happened that the sample thread coordinated with the deep red I had chosen for this sweater.
I am sure there are even more things we can do with this “accidental” accessory; I’ve shown only a few of the ways it can be worn. Demi seems to have better fashion sense than I do, so I’ll let her do some experimenting.
I imagine Demi will make good use of both new additions to her wardrobe.
Which way is YOUR favorite?
