I was a slow bloomer to them at first - I got Avenyon and really didn't know quite what to do with her. I had never had a doll like her before and it took me a bit of time before I started to feel comfortable with her. But the beauty of these dolls, among many other things, is that the more you interact with them by dressing, changing eyes and wigs, photographing them or doing whatever it is with these dolls that brings out the creativity in you, the closer you feel to the doll. It's not like any other closeness I have had with dolls and I've been collecting dolls since 1980. I certainly became attached to some vintage and fashion dolls and still have several of those that I have no intention of selling, but having BJDs is just different - they are so realistic looking - even the more anime looking ones like Avenyon - that it's almost like having little people living with you.
As for the Realm, I love that we stay on topic on this Board. Even though each of us has things going on in our lives, our primary focus stays on what brought us to the Board in the first place - our love for the doll. I would like to see more stand alone pictures too because, like some of the others here, I've become much slower in getting stories out these days and don't feel like I've kept up with others as far as story growth. I have to admit that I like sales posts because I've gotten some of my favorite dolls from other collectors, but I agree with other comments that there are enough other venues covering that already. I hope we can stay somewhat pure while continuing to grow in our hobby and continue to love and appreciate our dolls.

: It was seeing Linda’s tribute to Hiro that has

: Has your love of the BJD begun to fade and
: give way to a new obsession or is it as
: strong as it was in the beginning?

: And do you see this board as a story only
: board-or one where questions can be asked
: too, or stand alone photos can be shared?
