I too enjoy whitewater canoe camping and would love to pick your brain for some new places to go. Not many places around here for that kind of stuff. We mostly just do day trips to whatever is running or up to the Deerfield in Western MA.

Im really itchin to get in a boat- but don't know too many people down here yet.
Where in Maine are you interested in?

173.69.42.248So you spent your time Downeast. That's my favorite place on the earth. I've paddled East Machias last spring and just did Saint Croix this fall. St. John and Machias are probably next on the list but I also want to check out the tamer sections of the Kennebec.
While you are down here do you want to paddle WW, flatwater, tandem, solo?
I've got some extra boats and gear you could use but I've only got the one WW solo canoe. The "New Boston" trip next weekend is probably going to be some tricky class III+ but I don't know for sure. Don't know if your up for that... Pictures look like the ledgy American side of Little Falls on the Saint Croix.
You might enjoy some quickwater on they Wood River through Arcadia. Maybe check out the flatwater group. NPMB.com is a bigger message board and you might hook up with people there. You would probably be fine at Fife Brook secion on the Deerfield in MA, but the last release was this weekend and I don't know if anyone is going up anymore this year.

75.237.145.16The Machias is a great trip. You can start at any lake, the best run is third to second with non-stop manuevering for two miles with fast water. Are you running with floats in ur boats? Im a solo paddler for the most part, liking to take my time on fast water. How late in the seasondo you all usually paddle until? These next few weekends im still moving a few things but am excited to head out soon.
