Great day on the Salmon

Mike and I had a nice run on the Salmon River. We put-in on the Blackledge and paddled down the Salmon to the covered bridge on Route 16. River was at a perfect level – plenty of water, but not over-powering (600-700 cfs on the East Hampton gauge). It was race day for the Salmon Slalom, so we got to run the slalom gates along the way - I missed about half. We both ran the broken dam clean. As usual, I was having too much fun to take pictures, but here’s what I have:

Spur of the moment trip. Put-in at 1pm,.. take-out at 3:15 pm, home by 5:30.
18 slalom gates, ran all of them, touched about 4 of them ,..20sec. total penalty. Unofficial of course.
No other folks were running the river it seemed yesterday.
Who's up for next weekend ?

Didn't even know a trip was happening until I saw the pictures. :-( Wouldn't have mattered...I spent the weekend in bed and/or on the couch, sick as a dog...some sorta stomach bug. Gawd that sucked. Looks like y'all had a good day.
I won't be paddling next weekend...my sister will be in town visiting, and I also need to be home Saturday for a new mattress delivery.
Sunday I plan on going up to the New England Paddlesports show in NH...anyone else going? I'm hoping to at least get a new paddle or two, and check out some boats (I am really heavily leaning towards purchasing a Wenonah Argosy as my new solo boat...gotta get to work on my boat shed!!
