The Upper Millers, as usual, was a open boaters dream. Long continuos rapids with many well placed eddy's that enabled you to play your way down a mile long CL-III rapid. Well spaced quietwater sections that gave you a chance to talk to your river mates before you came to the next set of churning water rapids. The usual A.M.C. trips being run. (Stay away ! They try to take money from you! don't get in a tizzy) But it's true. They must assume when you show up you're part of their group and they almost always ask for the $5 right away. I've had to tell them twice that I'm not part of the A.M.C. trip. Glad to see them out teaching others though. The Upper Millers is one of my favorite spring release trips. Only a 1 1/2 hr drive from home, the shuttle is a long haul though. And the take-out is one of the worst I've ever had the un-pleasure of doing. Thanks to Bill and Joe S. for the company. On to the next challenge!
