| Great trip on the Quinnibaug !

Met with Chuck and a new guy, Eric, sunday to paddle the Quinnibaug from Putnam to Rt.101. Water level was great and the weather was co-operative. Last did this trip about 3-4 years ago on a RICKA trip.
There were marked changes in the woodlands on the right bank for half the trip it seemed. Tree's were cut, entire hillsides were bulldozed and leveled. A sand and gravel operation was destoying the woodlands along a 1-2 mile strech in the beginning.
The river had plenty of water and it was a great day to be out. Despite the lack of snowpack/runoff this year, there are alway's segments of river you can get out on in the spring. You just have to know where to look.
