Just wanted to be sure that all of you RICKA whitewater paddlers have this info:
1st Annual RICKA BBQ
Date: August 23, 2009
Location: The Pavilion at Ft. Getty in Jamestown (for directions see link to registration form below)
Time: We have the Pavilion from 8am to 4 pm
Paddles: Unfortunately, there is no whitewater nearby, but there will be a number of flatwater and sea kayaking trips leaving from Ft. Getty. Check the flatwater and sea kayaking bulletin boards and calendars for details.
Food: Catered southern barbecue from Becky's Barbecue in Middletown, RI. The meal includes barbecued chicken and pulled pork, a variety of sides, soft drinks and water, watermelon and desert. Vegetarian meals can be provided and kid's meals are available. See the registration form.
Other Activities: Fort Getty offers swimming and fishing. There is a volley ballnet, just bring a ball. There is ample room for ball games, badminton, or most anything else. Organize an activity and bring the necessary equipment.
Cost: Adults - $10, Children 12 and under - $5.

Because this is a catered event we must let the caterer know the head count by Saturday, 8/15/2009. Your registration form and check must be in Charlie's hands before then.
