Dedication and Ribbon Cutting for the
\Howard Conservation Area Pontiac Canoe Launch
10:00 – 11:00 am
Join us at the site of the first official canoe launch on the lower Pawtuxet River .

Refreshments will be served following our dedication and ribbon-cutting, and you are welcome to walk the grounds, and learn about future plans and possibilities for our 50-acre conservation area and wildlife habitat.
Saturday, June 6th
"Great Pawtuxet Paddle"
from new Pontiac Canoe Launch
Start between 9:00 and 10:00 am; allow 2 to 3 hours paddling time
Join us for this inaugural trip from the new Pontiac Canoe Launch. This seven mile flat water paddle, suitable for all levels, begins at the Howard Conservation Area and takes out at the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet parking lot. Shorter round-trips from the launch site are possible.
Shuttling will be available from Rhodes and all are welcome to return for our noontime B-B-Q and refreshments following the paddle.
Bring your own boat or rent from nearby outfitters. Guide map and snack provided.

DIRECTIONS TO EVENTS: The canoe launch is located at the intersection of Pontiac Avenue and Knight Street at the Cranston/Warwick line. From I-95 N take Exit 14B for Route 37 W. From I-95 S, take Exit 14 for Route 37 W. Once on Route 37 W, take Exit 3 for Pontiac Avenue . At the end of ramp turn left onto Pontiac Avenue . Go 1 mile south on Pontiac Avenue . Turn left to stay on Pontiac Avenue . Canoe launch is on your left at bottom of hill. 41º43'54.73" N 71º27'36" W.
