If anyone is interested in learning to pole a canoe, this is the place to be on saturday at 10:00 a.m.. At Natchaug state forest along the Natchaug river in eastern Ct..
From 10 to noonish it's just free standing (!) time untill they start the clinic. (social time). Then Harry Rock, (um-teen zillion time National poling champion) give's about a 45 minute instructional talk and display.
The pool in the river is shallow and good for learning with just slight current.
Chuck, Eric, and I would love to have more new poler's join us in this great way to mess about in boats. (it's really not that difficult)
Come give it a try!
