Please meet at the MacDonald's on 146 in Uxbridge which is the first exit in Mass after Slatersville. We will put in at the Zoar Picnic Area below the Gap and take out at the Shunpike Rest Area at the Indian Bridge – quickwater with class I and II rapids. We will launch at 11 am (assuming a 9 am release) Check the whitewater message board the morning of the trip for final shuttle and launch times. We will launch 2 hours after the power company begins its release. This will allow the water time to reach the lower section where we will be paddling. If you want to check yourself, the dam release phone number is 1-800-452-1737 and the dam code is 255123. Prior quickwater experience is required - you must have directional control of your boat at all times. Please be sure that your boat has adequate floatation in case you fall out of your boat and it broaches mid-stream. See the whitewater page for required gear: http://www.ricka-flatwater.org/wwschedule.htm Directions to put-in: Take the Mass Pike West, to Route 91 North to Exit 26, Route 2 West for about 17 miles to the Indian bridge. Once your reach the Indian bridge, take the right just before the bridge onto Zoar Road – look for the sign "Rowe/Monroe". Follow Zoar Road to the end. Make a left at the end and proceed under the railroad bridge. Continue on the road until you reach the Zoar Picnic Area on the left.
