I picked up a "Springer Bicycle Jogger" a few years back looking for new ways to exercise with my dogs. It allows you to ride your bike with your dog without having to hang onto the leash with one hand. My dogs love the thing! I've used it with multiple dogs both large & small & it holds up well. It's a lot safer then holding the leash - something I used to do - the spring absorbs most of the pull should your dog try to pull away while riding. I do recommend using a pinch collar with it & not a flat collar or choke chain.
Here's a picture Nate took of Ogre using mine a couple months back. All my dogs get exercised on it. They enjoy using it alot. It's a fun easy way to exercise with your dog.
I've had Nate & a few others ask me about the Springer & where I got it when they've been here looking @ my dogs & they've seen my bike with the Springer attached. Here's a link to the Jeffer's web site where I bought mine awhile ago for Nate & any one else who maybe interested in looking into one. I'm sure it's also sold on several other sites on line.
