Training, confirmation and temperment mean everything. Location sets market value and where I am in upstate NY that pony unless it has a lot of training previously and is a bomb proof childs mount that pony is worth very little presently. If you can hop on and ride without a big fight and the pony seems to remember the basics it has some value. Without any history its a gamble unless you can get that horse for a lot less.
: I have found a cute quarb gelding pony who i
: belive has great potential, but he needs SO
: MUCH work! I am willing to put in the time
: but i cant figure out what he is worth. I am
: planing to buy him recondition him and sell
: him but the owner wants 1,300 for him and he
: is not worth that considering the shape he
: is in now, hes been left out to pasture
: without human contact for over 2 years, the
: new owner got the horse after the person
: boarding the horse didnt pay for 3 months
: boarding "each month is $85" and
: she hasnt done anything with the horse
: since, no grain, vet bills, shoes, anything.
: However somehow he is in good health and is
: very respectful. He is seven years old, and
: i belive he is a large poney, he has a great
: temperment and i think he will make a great
: jumper. But how do i figure out how much he
: is worth now? Please if you can give me any
: pointers on how to price him i would love
: it.
