Great to hear that Howard has encouraged the release of the meetings minutes. Certainly when I was the Detling sec. there was never anything discussed that was not publishable. Anyway - time for everyone to start checking that I can still add up on my fingers - I've just got round to updating the post-war statistics which are now on www.kent-webs.net/pointingsehistory/postwar.htm. As usual - if my adding up is duff - leave a message.

How can the CL&C hold their meeting on a course not in our area. Is this the start of an amalgamation of the SE and Sandhurst areas?

It appears that despite all our frustrations from last year things are very similar on the fixture front. Interesting to see if people will travel up to twesledown for a fixture tho.

It has been pointed out that 14th Feb is not a Saturday, so is the Southdown & Eridge at Godstone being run on Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th? Oh, and the conference minutes are not being uploaded in full - but a selection of stories & reports will be on the site in due course.

I agree it is odd for a SE HUNT to hold a meeting outside the area however, I am sure that a SE HUNT HAS HELD A MEETING AT tweseldown before, I`M sure pete mercer can trawl his archives and validate that. although Tweseldown is somewhat impersonal, its layout and facilities can attract horses and spectators from a widespread area.As I Live closer to the godstone course it is alot quicker for me to travel to Tweseldown than to Aldington and Catsfield.Not everyone has the benefit of living in the depths of kent and sussex. whatever happened to the handcross proposed course?

Who has not put the incorrect name of the Hunt on the Home Page? Surely it's the CHIDDINGFOLD, LECONFIELD and COWDRAY not as stated or is it a new Hunt with a new meeting?

Can I refer the honourable member to www.kent-webs.net/pointingsehistory/courses/history.htm where they will find that South East hunts running at Tweseldown is far feom a novelty. Indeed last season the South Midlands ran there Hunts Club meeting there. Ex-racecourse Tweseldown is now run as a commercial business and has to get as much business as it can (including the 2012 Olympics horse events). The Sandhurst (Hampshire) is the smallest ptp area in the country - with only two racing venues - is it not about time that talks took place about the possibility of the South-East becoming four counties instead of just three - or are there too many noses that would be put out of joint.

The Surrey Union held a point 2 point at Twesledown on 17th May 1969 To the best of my memory there where over 70 runners competing in the 6 races Possibly the best meeting that the s.u. have ever held
