Will is two wins clear for the Wilkinson Sword, sponsored by Racing Post Weekender, for the national novice rider championship. Competition closes on Sunday May 17th. Fingers crossed, everyone! Will Hickman, 7 wins, Jack Barber, 5 wins Olly Murphy, 5 wins Sam Twiston-Davies, 5 wins Jake Greenall with 4 wins.

Fingers crossed none of those other boys have doubles at the weekend. I suppose its too late to plead for rides now! The main novice riders championship is agonizingly close, it would take something short of a miracle to win it but I want to do my best to get as close to the lead as I can. The only problem is that I'm running out of ammuntition so it looks like any hope is going to be short lived.

I went to cothers, lord and master led til 3 out and was easily passed by a popham grey called thunder child. Will looked very stylish but the lad who rode the winner ( matt griffiths) looked absolutely brilliant for his age.
