regarding ground conditions..its very unfortunate that we've had a very dry spring. All this bickering regarding lack of runners is nonsense. As an owner of one horse myself I'd love to be running him (& glory hunting) but instead I'm decorating the bathroom up to my axles in grout and paint! I'd rather be out there getting him ready to run but as a cautious owner he's out in the field getting fat instead. As for Godstone, I'm a big fan and should have more runners with great ground staff. All this in house fighting is not getting us anywhere we should all pull in the same direction for the best of the sport in the South East. Here's to better conditions next year...Good luck to all at Folkestone.

I don't think the ground has changed that much over the years, it's just the fact that the South-East does not have the Yards of horses it used to. You look back ten years and you had yards with 10 + from The Grissell's, The McCarthy's, The Silks, John Best's The Hacking's, The Hickman's and Anna Newton-Smith yard, all except two, are training under rules now. Maybe some serious attention needs to be looked at the meetings that take place. Does Peper Harow have a place in the South-East area calendar? Maybe it time it came under the Sandhurst Area.
