How well advertised has this meeting been?! If I didn't know better I'd say you were a mole to help blow the organisers trumpets! To start with with have what I would call the standard package - the usual hedge row boards, Area PR, Area Racecard advertising, etc etc in line with other meetings. Over and above that we have: 1 Editorial in local magazines and papers (page 36 of Playground Magazine - for families in T-Wells and surrounding areas - has a delightful selection of my children advertsing the family attractions of Pointing). 2 Additional racecard advertising in the OS&B & WK at Penshurst last week - a full page picture orientated advert 3 Finally our biggest push, we have leafleted all stations in the immediate vicinity of the racecourse - including Oxted, Hurst Green, Linfield, Dormansland, Upper Warlingham, Woldingham, Whiteleaf, South Whiteleaf, Hildenborough, Sevenoaks, and Ashurst. These are colour A5 fliers (see A5 Flier) and offer a £5 discount to families on production of the fliers, so we should be able to guage just how successful they have been. As for the rest of your comments, they are hilarious. Rain is forecast, the turf at Godstone is old turf and as magnificent racing ground, so ground criticism is at best misguided, it is always level and the clerk of the course is as good as any. Current ground at the course as at this morrning is Good to Firm, Good in places, very level, no jar and the Clerk genuinely thinks with the rain expected that it will be proper good ground by the weekend. Firm? You ignorant moron. The only inkling of accuracy we can take is that it is true to say that Godstone doesn't suit every horse, by nature of its undulations you need something balanced in order to hold a position and compete. It doesn't however, differ greatly from other tracks in that not all tracks suit all horses. Nobody likes running their horses there? Ask Nick Pearce, the Robinsons, Heather Silk, Anne Blaker, David Maxwell or Nigel Padfield what they think? They all know their stuff and have had runners (and winners) there. I have to ask, what has motivated you to put such a negative and unconstructive post up? Personal jibe maybe? Pathetic.
