As an ex-secretary (race-meeting organiser) of Detling this raises one of my dilemmas. One has to find a competant reliable volunteers (possibly hunt supporters) or alternatively I had a number of preofessional event organising companies who wrote to me and would provide professional people for a mere $2000 (which would have made the event a loss-making and therefore non financially viable event) or else, of course, we could reduce the prize money by 80% to find the money. Time for owners and trainers to express their opinions so that the current secretaries can get peoples feelings.
