Aimigayle, Pete Mercer's home-bred daughter of his pointing mare Cherrygayle, won the £50,000 Novice Mares' Final at Newbury toady - in course record time after leading the whole way. Pete's beloved "Aimi" has now won him £70,000 in prize money - plus breeders' premiums. Many pleased people at Parham were quietly hoping he might now invest in some new footwear.
By the way, the server for www.pointingse.com is down (as of 9.00pm this evening); that means I can't update the website with today's stuff from Parham - and you probably can't read this unless you can access the forum directly.
