in 1975 (long before most of todays jocks were more than a twinkle in their parents eyes) the saeson in the South-East didnt get going until Monday March 31st at Midhurst. The season was only 8 meetings long - every week to the end of May. Leading horse was current steward Angela Ellis fathers Newcastle who still managed to win 5 races plus a second. Leading point scorer for the men was a gentleman who rode at this years Detling meeting - can you guess which rider has been going for that long?
