Having just viewed the 2009 national fixture list i would like to say well done to those involved in producing the schedule for our area
Apart from the first meeting at Detling and the inevitable problems over Easter for the first time in many years we appear to have avoided the fixture clashes with East Anglia
I personally see this as a very positve move on our behalf and despite the difficult ecconomic situation at the moment lets all hope that the weather is kinder this season so that everyone will benefit from the above changes
Certain people are concerned over Penshurst holding their fixture on Grand National day but i am sure that High Easter adapted this policy 3 years ago and where rewarded with their largest ever crowd [beeing one of only 3 meeting held on that day ]
This point also applies to the Southdown and Eridge for opting to go on Sat 2nd May rather than the apparantly more lucrative bank holiday monday[9 meetings scheduled]
Beeing only three other meetings on that day weather permitting i am sure the crowd will exceed expectations and we could be in for a decent days racing
Once again well done to everyone concerned and congratulations to Nick on his new appointment
