I agree that Jockeys ignoring the starter is not acceptable, however, Mr Jarvis who has been starter for many many years has the power to inform the stewards of any bad behaviour, and the stewards have the right to fine the jockeys for not listening to the starter.
As that did not happen, it seems that Mr Jarvis was ok with what ever happened. Also a Steward would have been present at the Start, well Stewards always used to be at the start.
This subject seems to be getting out of hand.
