Hi Michael,
Many thanks for your tip. So "enclosed" is the keyword, isn't it? I've already reserved a room at College Hall, UCL for the summer, and I'm prepared for the prohibition against smoking there. What I don't understand, however, is that in the information pamphlet of the College Hall, it says that "smoking is not allowed anywhere at College Hall, nor on the steps outside the front door." The steps outside the front door are surely not enclosed public space, but they say smoking is prohibited. Where should I smoke then?
