In Memorandum.
David Jackson Cooper. President of The Pipe Club of London.
3rd February 1929 ~ 6th December 2007.
It is with profound regret that David Jackson Cooper, passed away peacefully after a short illness on the morning of 6th. December 2007.
The funeral took place on Thursday 13th. December at St. Giles Church, Coldwaltham, West Sussex. At 1.45pm. The Life President; Peter C. Wiseman and The Secretary; Michael P. Gratrick, were in attendance.
David was always well respected, both before and after his appointment as The Club's President, and was the prime mover in securing for The Club those wonderful days at "The Morrell Arms", Barnham.
David, because of his work as a clay pipe maker, was not always able to attend certain meetings of The Club but he endeared himself, both as a pipe maker and a gentleman, to all that had the privilege to be within reach of his charm and charisma. He will be most sorely missed.
With thanks to Peter Wiseman for the composition of this post.
Michael Gratrick
Hon. Secretary and Treasurer. The Pipe Club of London
