Spot of trouble with Savinelli #628.

Today when I went to take the steam of my Savinelli #628 off for cleaning, the section of the stem which holds the filter came off and was stock fast in the pipe. Took a set of pliers and a fair bit of wincing to get it out.
It appears that the pipe has swollen enough to hold this bit faster than the steam. However, having spent Ł150 on this pipe, this greatly annoys me. If there is anyone here more knowledgeable than I on this who might have a solution for correcting this, I shall be forever grateful.
