I admit that I don't look after my pipes very well, but I don't bang them about either. None the less the bowls of two of my favourite pipes have cracked in the last couple of years (an Ashton and a two-note Don Carlos, so you can imagine my irritation). On both occasions I have just picked them up from where I left them and found the breaks. I wondered whether this happened to any of you and whether there was any explanation.
