I bought an admittedly cheap straight stem for under £10, and would recommend that you invest in a cheaper pipe, not a really expensive briar, if you have not already. I started on Dunhill My Mixture 965, a real brain-blower of an English, and I really enjoyed it. But if you want an aromatic, I would recommend Clan, with vanilla notes. But if you live near a good tobacconist, go for the loose tobacco, like choice teas. Try a vanilla or cherry, why not? --Previous Message--

Sir,
: Hi,
: I'd say try St.Bruno.
: Try the flake not ready
: rubbed.
: The ready rub is ok just not
: as good, but if ya don't know
: about rubbing out tobacco t
: then the ready rubbed is a
: good start.
: If ya want flavoured then
: Black cherry's really nice.
: I started on that.

: Hi all,
:
: I have been smoking roll-ups
: for many years now, and have
: decided to give a pipe a go!
: Could anybody recommend a pipe
: tobacco that's ideal for a
: beginner, with good aroma and
: fragrance, and that is readily
: available from, say,
: supermarkets/news agents etc?
:
: Regards,
:
: Tony.
